The Dominick

⊙ 246 Spring St, New York City

All 46 stories of Spring Street’s The Dominick make up New York’s only independent, AAA, Five-Diamond hotel that easily sits up there with Manhattan’s legendary hotels. From the moment you step through the door, the ultra-professional greeting is only surpassed by the double height smattering of walnut, bronze and glass that is the lavish lobby.

However, the mood here doesn’t feel corporate or stuffy in the slightest. Add in picture-postcard views and an address that sits between New York City’s best neighbourhoods, and you have a superb NYC hotel.

The Rooms

The Dominick 391 guest rooms start from 425 square feet and are decked out with Fendi Casa furnishings, leather-topped desks and floor-to-ceiling windows throughout. Say hello to Hudson Yards sunsets and Midtown glitter.

Marble-finished bathrooms include rain showers, deep soak tubs (some with city views to boot) and twin vanities. All the add-ons you’d expect from a hotel of this calibre, including Nespresso machine, wet bar and well-stocked minibar, are present in every room.

The Facilities

The seventh floor, handily named The Terrace on 7, featured a downtown rarity; a seasonal outdoor pool complete with loungers and cabanas. After you’ve taken a dip, it’s onward to the Sisley-Paris Spa that tucks a sauna, steam room and Himalayan-salt chamber into one neat little package. Don’t miss the honey-infused treatment, using the hotel’s own rooftop hives’ produce.

Stay trim in the fully-stocked gym one floor up from the pool, with Peloton Bikes and TechoGym kit and MIRROR workouts that you’re used to available throughout.

Food and Drinks

The Michelin-starred Vestry, expertly-led by Chef Shaun Hergatt serves up market seafood and veg-heavy dishes year round. If you don’t want to leave the pool, then El Ta’Koy brings Hawaiian-Mexican light bits straight to your lounger. Grab breakfast at Café Mezz on the way out.

What’s Nearby

Jog or stroll along Hudson River Park’s esplanade two blocks away. Hop on the subway at Spring Street, just around the corner, for easy access to the rest of the city.

Why Choose The Dominick?

With generously sized rooms, unforgettable views and of course the rooftop pools, you’ll be hard pushed to find a Manhattan hotel that ticks as many boxes as the Dominick. The five diamond pedigree and amazing added extras naturally deserve the price premium, but it’s definitely worth the splurge
